Several Months Gone/Killing The Blues

It has been a long time since I posted anything. Life has tightened a rope around my neck to remind me of the sober side of life that happens. I just wish that events didn't have to happen back to back. To have a moment when a quiet breeze blows past by to remind me to take a long deep breath. The truth is, the breeze is always there. I just have to remind myself to take that deep breath. It was no coincidence the other day when I came across an interview of Michael Singer who wrote "The Untethered Soul". I will never forget a part of the interview when he said, though not the exact words, "You either let the feelings past right through you or you let it drag you down". It was an amazing moment. And I started to remember when I had let those emotions of fear and anger seep into my mind, along with my thoughts of “What if”? That I calmly remindeded myself that when I start to feel those tiny emotional aches dig deep into me. I can remove them, let them pass and go onto the next peaceful experience. Now time for some music.

R.I.P Donna Summer

Being a child of the 70's I grew up listening to Donna Summer. It was something I couldn't escape since my older sister and mother both loved to dance. I loved to dance too but being a shy child I would save my moves for the solice of my bedroom as I would twirl to the music coming from my 45" record player. I continued to listen to her music even as I got older and continued to dance to her grooves. I was saddened by her passing today but thankful that she provided beats that made people get up and dance.

Where Once Poe Walked

by H. P. Lovecraft

Eternal brood the shadows on this ground,
Dreaming of centuries that have gone before;
Great elms rise solemnly by slab and mound,
Arched high above a hidden world of yore.
Round all the scene a light of memory plays,
And dead leaves whisper of departed days,
Longing for sights and sounds that are no more.

Lonely and sad, a specter glides along
Aisles where of old his living footsteps fell;
No common glance discerns him, though his song
Peals down through time with a mysterious spell.
Only the few who sorcery's secret know,
Espy amidst these tombs the shade of Poe.
